Background
H2W catering business is based just outside Berwick upon Tweed. Formed in April 2005, the firm’s chief focus is providing healthy, hearty and wholesome home-made meals using fresh local produce. It primarily provides meals for holiday makers in self-catering properties.
Meals are individually prepared for each booking ensuring that the freshest ingredients are selected and allowing flexibility for special dietary requirements. Alison Webber also provides bespoke entertaining options and novelty cakes for any celebration.
H2W marketed the company via word of mouth and by contacting holiday home owners directly. Menus and booking details are available on holiday homes’ websites.
Why did the Company need to act?
Alison realised that a web presence was essential in order to improve online communications and allow the business to reach a wider target audience, while portraying a professional image.
Alison envisaged that a website would allow H2W to creatively market its menus, bespoke entertaining options and novelty cakes. She was also keen to let holiday makers book their food online.
What did the Company do?
The Catalyst project funding enabled H2W catering to purchase a business website from registered supplier E-Cat Partners, who ensured that the website for H2W met the acceptance criteria specification.
Regularly updated with new and seasonal information, the website provides information about the company’s services and products and links to partners’ websites. It also features an online booking facility.
What has been the result?
Alison has received brilliant feedback about the new website: all the existing holiday homes feel this is the type of image that their 5-star homes aim to promote.
H2W has experienced an increase in the number of cottages that they cater for – a direct result of the image the website portrays and the increased awareness raised online. The company is also enjoying a steady increase in bookings taken thanks to the website.
